Anyone out there well versed in the Stubben serial numbers located on the flap? Bought a saddle sold to me as a 18' Tristan DL, saddle shows up with a smaller seat than the saddle was represented. I could immediately see the seat was smaller, ran a tape from the nail to the mid cantle, and sure enough it is a good 1'smaller than I needed or was sold to me, 17'. Since I am on here, anyone out there know the serial number sequence to verify the seat size? Maybe a shot in the dark, not even sure what factory to try, definately not North America(they don't go back that far).Germany or Switzerland perhaps. 3870078 32cm tree Thank you! Contact Buddy Baird at Stubben: his whole life is looking up serial #'s. He is an insanely sweet man and responds with lightening speed. Regarding seat size, I've been finding lately that what the saddle says its supposed to be can differ from what it really measures out to be, sadly. I wanted to use the Opera browser to watch short films on a local website. However, there is one thing that I don't know how to do. The player on the website, like also youtube does, uses Adobe Flash Player 9. Sony bravia adobe flash player. It's a cool tv which can be used in so many ways. Oh, a friend also shared this with me recently. Not sure how to interpret it, if its just kieffer's method, or a standard method of measure: 'The German seat measure is taken from saddle front to middle of the cantle, the English measure in inch is taken from the saddle nail to the middle of the cantle.' From the kieffer website: not sure if that helps you actually. Stubben Serial # Lookup. Discussion in 'Tack & Equipment' started by horsiehuntersam, Jan 17, 2011. Best Answer: You can try emailing them with the serial number as well as photos of the saddle: [email protected] General Age of Saddle 1 Look at the front of the saddle's flap. If it is covered in suede, it was made before 1994. If it is smooth, the saddle may have been made in or after 1994. 2 Lift up the skirt of the saddle (the small flap just below the front of the saddle) and check what color the stirrup bar is. If it is chrome, the saddle was made between 1962 and 1969. 3 Find the nail head on the front of the saddle. It should be just above the skirt. A plain silver nail means the saddle was made in the 1960s or early '70s. A saddle with a silver nail with an engraved Stubben logo was manufactured between the mid-70s and mid-80s. If the nail is blue, the saddle was manufactured in the late '80s or more recently.
